The Young Bucks are getting repackaged, AEW has major plans for them

The Golden Jets (Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho) beat The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) at the AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view event last Saturday. The match had the stipulation that the winner would get an AEW Tag Team Title shot, but the Golden Jets would have had to disband if they lost.

Omega with the one-winged angel for the win to Matt. The Bucks threw a fit after the match. Following the show, Brandon Cutler announced on Twitter that the Bucks “will be taking some time away from wrestling.” They have also not been featured on Being The Elite in several weeks, which was explained by Culter on social media as he stated the Bucks had “officially finished up with Being The Elite” as well.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the Bucks would be doing a heel group with Cutler moving forward. A possible member of the group could be Colt Cabana, as he has been a name talked about for the group, although his involvement is not certain.

The idea

Meltzer wrote, “The idea is for them to take some time off and come back as heels with major impact. It’s in the beginning stages and there’s no known time frame on when they will pull the trigger on it and they will return.”

Earlier this week, the tag team filed to trademark the terms KTB Wrestling (Killing the Business Wrestling) and Superdick Party. Meltzer noted the first term is for outside AEW projects and is not currently part of the stable idea.
