WWE is reporting that Asuka suffered a broken right collarbone during her match with Ember Moon at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. There is no word on when she will be cleared to return but typically, a broken collarbone needs 6-8 weeks of recovery time.
“During the match, she landed awkwardly from a throw from Ember Moon and was able to complete the match, but had notable pain and discomfort,” Dr. Westerfield told WWE.com. “We performed an initial ultrasound backstage that was highly suspicious of a break that was later confirmed by an X-ray.”
The next set of NXT Tapings are scheduled for Thursday night. It’s possible that she could appear on the show in a non-wrestling capacity. We likely won’t see her wrestle again until October, at the earliest, because they are taping another round of shows on 9/13.
