Joe Hendry has a new home on the WWE main roster. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Hendry is officially joining the Raw roster. He is set to perform at next week’s episode of Raw, which will serve as his formal introduction to the brand.
While SmackDown had previously been speculated as his landing spot, creative ultimately decided to integrate him on Raw instead. Hendry will be effectively finishing up with NXT, though the door remains open for him to make additional appearances on the developmental brand.
He debuted at the Royal Rumble before being sent to NXT. During his NXT tenure, he was at the Performance Center every day doing classes, which he said was something he wanted to do rather than had to do. He won the NXT Championship in February, marking his first WWE title. He lost it at NXT Stand and Deliver in a fatal four-way match to Tony D’Angelo. He also appeared at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a segment with R-Truth and The Miz as a comedic tribute to John Cena. Cena praised Hendry’s work ethic backstage at WrestleMania 41 and later called him a major player in the industry.
He also competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the go-home SmackDown before WrestleMania 42. The full announced lineup for next Monday’s Raw is as follows:
- Joe Hendry in concert
- Becky Lynch appearance
- Roman Reigns appearance
- Jacob Fatu appearance
Raw takes place Monday, April 28 and streams live on Netflix. WWE will continue the build for Backlash in Tampa on May 9th.
