WWE WrestleMania 43 is on track for Saudi Arabia, and a target date is beginning to take shape.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, the backstage expectation within WWE is that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia as previously planned. A targeted date of March 27 has emerged, which would serve as the final weekend of Riyadh Season. The weekend of April 10 is also being considered as a potential alternative.
On April 23, WWE announced another upcoming event in Saudi Arabia, which Fightful Select had previously reported was in the works.
Fightful Select also has a note on the format of the show. While a one-time shift to a one-night event is possible for WrestleMania 43, it is considered unlikely. Sean Ross Sapp reports that ESPN has expressed a preference for the two-night format to continue.
Nick Khan confirmed at the CAA World Congress of Sports earlier this month that WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia is still happening, dismissing negative social media reaction to the decision as coming from a vocal minority.
“We’re doing WrestleMania next year in Saudi. First time ever, WrestleMania will be outside the United States or Canada. We’ve had a big, fruitful partnership with them,” Khan said.
