Backstage News On Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE Status Ahead Of Clash In Italy

Stephanie Vaquer’s expected WWE return has been pushed back further, with PWInsider reporting that pitches were made for her to appear on Monday’s Raw, but that as of today, she is not expected to travel to Italy.

Per PWInsider’s update: “As we noted last week in the Elite section, there were some in the company who expected Stephanie Vaquer back in the storyline mix by this weekend. We were told this morning that there were pitches for her for Monday’s Raw but as of today, she was not expected to travel to Italy.”

Vaquer was written off WWE TV on the April 27 Raw in a backstage segment where Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, acting alongside Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, attacked her. Roxanne Perez rammed an equipment box directly into Vaquer’s shoulder during the segment.

Michael Cole announced on commentary that Vaquer had suffered a second-degree AC sprain and would be out for a bit. Bryan Alvarez of F4W confirmed the injury was legitimate, and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury was real and that the planned Vaquer-Morgan match for Backlash on May 9 in Tampa had to be pulled as a result.

The origin of the AC sprain has not been confirmed publicly. It is possible that the injury predated the April 27 Raw angle and that the attack was designed to write Vaquer off TV in a way that could be reincorporated into the Vaquer-Morgan program upon her return.

The ongoing delay in Vaquer’s return has extended her absence to over five weeks as of the original April 27 Raw write-off. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select had previously reported that no return date for Vaquer was widely known inside the company and that internal rumblings pointed to a minimum six-week absence from the April 27 Raw, with the upper end of speculation pointing to SummerSlam.

Vaquer’s 210-day Women’s World Championship reign was the lead women’s main event story from September 2025 through WrestleMania 42 night one, where she dropped the title to Liv Morgan in a match that Bodyslam reported was kept under seven minutes due to both wrestlers heading into the show with physical issues.
