Jacob Fatu may have picked up an injury during a WWE live event in Liverpool just days before his Tribal Combat match against Roman Reigns at Clash in Italy on May 31.
WWE opened its European tour with the Liverpool live event, and one of the featured bouts saw Fatu defeat Solo Sikoa in a street fight. Fans in attendance flagged a concerning moment once it was over.
X user @xlilcubx, who attended the show, called the contest a 10/10 battle between the two Samoan stars. The same fan noted that Fatu appeared to limp to the back afterward and was met by a doctor at the curtain.
A second attendee, @Jwsh_CFC, posted a similar thing on social media, claiming Fatu landed a move awkwardly and was visibly in pain heading backstage.
There has been no confirmation that Fatu actually suffered an injury. It is entirely possible he was simply selling the damage from a physically demanding street fight, and there is currently no indication the situation is anything serious. Fatu has a history with similar selling work — he was widely believed to be selling a leg issue at Survivor Series WarGames in 2024 before reports confirmed he was fine.
Fatu challenges Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Tribal Combat match at Clash in Italy at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. Reigns retained against Fatu at Backlash before Fatu attacked him after the bell, then went on a rampage on Raw that included putting the Tongan Death Grip on The Usos. Facing the threat of being fired, Fatu challenged Reigns to Tribal Combat, and the champion accepted.
Reigns enters with a perfect record in the Tribal Combat stipulation. He is 2-0 in Tribal Combat, having beaten Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023 and Solo Sikoa on the Raw on Netflix premiere in 2025.
The BetOnline betting odds have Reigns as a -500 favorite to retain, with Fatu the +300 underdog.
