Former WWE Star Expected To Make Return Soon

Dave Meltzer has reported the latest on the potential Enzo Amore and Big Bill WWE reunion situation, telling the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Enzo is expected to be in NXT soon, but that the Big Bill situation is more uncertain even as outside-the-company talk grows.

Per Meltzer’s report: “The current plan has Enzo Amore to be in NXT soon. Nothing on Big Bill, the former Big Cass, is official or even talked about heavily in the company, but outside the company there is a lot of talk. It’s a Jericho situation where you go with the idea he’s off television for a long time with a contract coming due so he’s possibly leaving. In most cases that’s correct, but Jericho also showed you can’t say 100 percent. And Hobbs showed even if they are being kept on television and are holding a title and having big matches, you can’t say they are 100 percent staying either.”

This aligns with the earlier reporting from False Finish that Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center this month. Per Fightful Select’s April reporting, Big Cass’ AEW contract is set to expire at the end of May or the start of June 2026.

He has not appeared on AEW television since the February parking lot street fight on Collision and has worked only two AEW matches across all of 2026. The WrestleVotes Radio report on Fightful Select had previously confirmed that WWE has an active interest in reuniting Amore and Big Bill.

Amore has been working the independent circuit since his January 2018 WWE release. He has wrestled for MLW, Northeast Wrestling, House of Glory, GCW, and a number of regional indies under the Real1 name across the intervening eight years. He has also pursued a music career.

The sexual assault case against Amore was closed by the Phoenix Police Department in 2018 with no charges filed.

Enzo and Cass were one of the most over tag teams on the WWE main roster in the mid-2010s. They held the NXT Tag Team Championship during their original NXT run together. They split in 2017 when Big Cass turned on Amore on Raw. Big Cass was released by WWE in June 2018. He joined AEW in 2024 as Big Bill.
