Bayley says WWE didn’t give her and Sasha Banks a chance, says Women’s Tag Titles deserve more

An interview with Bayley that was conducted by talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy will be out tomorrow.

Among many topics discussed, Bayley expressed disappointment with her Women’s Tag Team Championship title reign with partner Sasha Banks. As previously noted, Banks went home after WrestleMania 35 because she was unhappy with the late change in creative plans as they were under the impression that they would have a longer reign that would bring credibility to the titles.

The Bella Twins later revealed on their podcast that they were supposed to start a program with The IIconics after WrestleMania 35. This would explain WWE’s abrupt decision to take the titles off of Bayley and Banks. The IIconics vs. Bella Twins program never got started because Nikki could not get cleared because of neck issues and a lesion on her brain.

During the interview with talkSPORT, Bayley said she thought she and Sahsa would be given a chance to do more. She said, “We thought Sasha and I would be given that chance and we weren’t. We then thought the IIconics would get that chance, they didn’t really.”

Bayley wished the best for Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss because “the titles have so much potential.”

We’ll see if WWE decides to do more with those belts but it’s worth noting that the Women’s Tag Team Titles currently do not have a spot at SummerSlam.
