4 PM UPDATE: A WWE source reached out to let us know that Becky Lynch’s injury is part of the storyline and she is wearing a brace in public to sell the “injury.”
ORIGINAL: Three WWE Superstars were not at the live events this weekend, despite being advertised.
Becky Lynch, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins did not appear at live events this weekend. Rollins’ situation is interesting because he is on the road in Canada with the company but he was replaced by Dean Ambrose at Saturday’s live event. As noted earlier, Ambrose worked as a total babyface and he cut a face promo. Click here to see photos of Ambrose at the event.
We don’t know much about Styles but he may just have the weekend off. We’ll post an update on him when we get it.
We’re told that Lynch is dealing with a legitimate left knee injury and that is why she was not at this weekend’s live events. She was wearing a knee brace at last week’s Raw and SmackDown Live and we’re told she was wearing it while on the road last weekend as well.
We don’t know if the attack from Charlotte Flair at the Rumble legitimately caused her to tweak her knee or if she had knee issues going into the show but she is not expected to miss any WWE TV’s leading up to WrestleMania.
Lynch is scheduled to appear this Monday night at Raw in a segment with Stephanie McMahon.
