When Daniel Bryan had to retire it was one of the saddest days in recent memory. Nobody wanted to see Daniel Bryan go and his career was shortened by a policy about concussions which is a part of the modern wrestling landscape.
For far too long talents did a ton of damage to themselves when they really shouldn’t have been in the ring. But Daniel Bryan wants to get back to wrestling and he obviously wants it badly. His wife Brie Bella recently spoke to From The Top Rope where she discussed her husband’s passion for wrestling and gave fans a lot of hope they’d be seeing Daniel Bryan back in the ring sooner or later.
“…I told Bryan, ‘You do have a daughter, so always remember that” Brie said. “But if the doctors finally give you the green light,’ I go, ‘Go! This is your dream and passion. You have one life to live and I will never hold you back.'”
“Because I love to wrestle, and I would hate if someone told me you can’t do it. And if WWE doesn’t allow it, then I said, ‘Go somewhere else. It’s all on you.’ Obviously, he would love to be able to get back in that WWE ring, but I know for a fact my husband is going to find his way back to the ring. He honestly is.”
Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “it pretty much looks like a lock that Bryan will be back in the ring in one year.” This is encouraging but a lot of factors are still up in the air in that regard. However, it certainly looks like Daniel Bryan is headed for an in-ring return somewhere.
If you’d like to see Daniel Bryan return to the ring then you’re not alone. Brie Bella said her husband will find a way back to the ring. Whether or not it’s with WWE is still a hurdle to jump over. But we’re sure he could still put on some great performances wherever he decided to go.
