Seth Rollins delivered a promo for the ages on Monday’s Raw, and the Busted Open crew couldn’t stop raving about it.
Ahead of his SummerSlam match with World Champion Roman Reigns, Rollins cut a promo to close out Raw, and it left a major impression on hosts Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray. LaGreca called it the finest mic work he’s ever seen from Rollins.
“I can’t think of another one that was the best segment with mic in hand from Seth Rollins that I’ve ever heard,” he said.
Bully Ray was quick to co-sign, admitting the segment had him reacting out loud in his living room.
“You’d have to show me a promo from years and years ago that even comes close to what last night was. I found myself pointing at the TV last night, literally,” Bully said. “I’m sitting by myself, pointing at the TV, going, that’s the guy, that’s the guy right there that we have wanted for so long.”
The ECW legend broke down exactly what made the promo click, from Rollins’ delivery to his presentation.
“He spoke with conviction, he had good bass in his voice, he was clear and he was concise, and he was hitting Roman between the eyes with truths,” Bully said. He added that Rollins standing there “in all black with his hair slicked back” was the finished product he had always wanted to see. “That’s the Seth Rollins I know and love.”
