Carlito has shared his read on Dominik Mysterio’s ongoing evolution as a top main-roster wrestler, telling Insight with Chris Van Vliet that Mysterio is “a rock star” and that he believes Mysterio is on track to become a future WWE World Champion if he can add some weight.
Carlito worked closely with Mysterio during their time in The Judgment Day. Mysterio has since moved up the card to take over leadership of The Judgment Day after Finn Balor’s exit from the faction alongside Liv Morgan.
“He’s a rock star, man. Just seeing the way he’s turned, you know, into a superstar. You know what I mean. I think he’s probably gonna be one of the biggest guys in the business one day. So, yeah, it’s great to see where he started, and then not finding himself, you know what I mean. And then really getting into the dirty, dumb character.”
Asked whether Mysterio is a future world champion, Carlito gave a direct answer.
“I think if he just needs to gain some weight. I think he can be a world champion.”
Carlito also addressed the possibility of returning to The Judgment Day if WWE wanted him back. Per Carlito, he learned about Finn Balor leaving the faction and Dom turning on Balor through the Judgment Day group text.
“I get the stuff on my feed, or not even I follow Dom and Liv and Finn and JD, all about Finn just told me that he did, he left the group, I guess. Dom turned on him. Now, Dom is running the Judgment Day.”
Carlito also walked through the original storyline math of how he ended up in The Judgment Day in the first place.
“That was just like a random, I think, random idea. He said he needs me for something for me to do, and then I kind of just worked. I think I was supposed to do something with the Judgment Day like a week or two, and then I kind of just silliness ensued, and I guess you know they people started liking it, so they just kept me in the group. It felt so random, too, right? Just this one, and then Carlito seemed like, but it worked out pretty good.”
