Everybody loves Daniel Bryan and if you don’t then we’ll pray for you. He’s quite a character and one of the reasons why fans loved seeing him perform was due to the fact he was having a blast while entertaining us.
Bryan recently spoke to Edge and Christian on their Pod Of Awesomeness when he was asked what kind of wrestling he’s watching now. The Bearded GOAT’s response was rather off the radar if you’re only a casual wrestling fan. But his answer was certainly an interesting one.
“I’m interested in just the ways wrestling is evolving and what fans are buying in different parts of the world. So like for example, Corey Graves’ brother — I don’t think I’ve ever met him but I hate him” Bryan said. “His wrestling name is Sam Adonis he just main evented Arena Mexico against Blue Panther. Okay — so you have to understand Blue Panther is like my favorite luchador, right? He main evented Arena Mexico in a hair vs hair match against Blue Panther and he took Blue Panther’s hair!”
“Like that’s what I wanted to — I wanted to take Blue Panther’s hair!” the Bearded GOAT continued. “[Adonis] comes to the ring with this giant America flag and in the center of it is a big [Donald] Trump face, right? So he’s getting all this — getting tons of heat. You see that kind of thing and you’re like ‘man, that’s awesome.'”
This will not spiral into a political tangent because it’s about pro wrestling, but Donald Trump draws heat in Mexico. I guess people don’t like cheering for a guy who wants to put a wall up to keep them out. Apparently, that’s a sore spot with Mexican fans and Sam Adonis is using that fact to gain a tremendous amount of heat with America’s neighbors to the South. Daniel Bryan knows a good gimmick when he sees it and he’s loving every minute of it.
But most of all he hates Adonis, not for any political reason, but because he shaved his favorite luchador’s head when Bryan wanted to be the one to do it. Perhaps Blue Panther can grow his hair back out in time for a possible “Danielson World Tour” in about a year so Bryan can finally get his chance to shave his favorite masked wrestler.
