John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal took place after Smackdown went off the air, where was The Great Khali?

– After WWE had finished airing SmackDown Live and 205 Live in Richmond, VA at the Richmond Coliseum, a dark match took place that saw the first-ever singles match between John Cena and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. The match ended when The Singh Brothers attacked Cena for the disqualification. Cena hit the AA to them to send the crowd home happy. As noted, Cena will face Shinsuke Nakamura on next week’s SmackDown with the winner going on to face Mahal at SummerSlam.

It looks like The Great Khali’s appearance at Battleground was “one and done” because he was not on the live Smackdown broadcast and he was not involved in the dark match. In fact, he had already flown home to India on Monday.

– WWE has released this promo for the main event of next week’s episode of Raw that will see Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman compete in a Triple Threat. As noted, Strowman vs. Joe vs. Reigns vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has been announced for SummerSlam.
