Luke Gallows has an idea for how Sheamus could make his AEW debut land: by walking out and Brogue Kicking MJF.
Speaking on TMZ Inside the Ring, the former WWE star pointed to the online back-and-forth between MJF and Sheamus and painted a picture of how a surprise arrival could play out.
“You see that MJF and him teased each other [on social media], if he pops out, the arena goes dark and the lights come on and he pump kicks his head off, people are gonna lose their sh*t,” Gallows said.
The comments come amid reporting that Sheamus is on his way out of WWE. According to Fightful Select, Sheamus is set to leave the company once his contract expires after turning down a restructured, reduced deal while he recovered from shoulder surgery. He was not released. Sheamus has since stripped WWE references from his social media accounts, switched to his real name and been moved to WWE’s alumni page, though neither he nor WWE has formally confirmed a departure.
MJF, the reigning AEW World Champion, has fueled the speculation by calling Sheamus out online, resurfacing an old exchange between the two and daring him to “bring that smoke.” Ricochet, now in AEW, has pushed back on the idea that Sheamus is headed there.
For now, it is only talk. Sheamus has not signed with any promotion, and a WWE exit has never guaranteed an AEW arrival. Gallows, who shares plenty of WWE history with Sheamus from their days trading tag-team title shots, was offering his own take on what a debut could look like rather than reporting anything concrete.
