Major update on Daniel Bryan and potential WrestleMania plans

As noted earlier, Daniel Bryan made some interesting comments about a potential in-ring return at WrestleMania. If you missed it, click here to read what he said. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has an update on Bryan and if you are one of the millions of fans hoping to see him back in the ring then there is some real hope.

Meltzer noted on Sunday that the angle shot last week involving Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn reflects that something has changed from the original WrestleMania plans.

There has been movement over the past month in regards to Bryan and Meltzer notes that protocols have taken place. He also notes that new doctors have cleared Bryan in recent months and the belief is that the hyperbaric chamber treatments have been a success for his brain. Football legend Joe Namath did the same treatments and he’s claimed that he has seen great results.

Meltzer also noted that he received word a few weeks ago that there were strong moves being made by Bryan as an attempt to get cleared. If he got the green light by WWE then he would be added as McMahon’s partner against Owens and Zayn.

It should be noted that just a week ago, Owens and Zayn were scheduled (according to WWE’s internal match line-up) for the Andre The Giant Memorial battle royal and McMahon was not scheduled for a match on the show. Plans changed and then they scripted Owens and Zayn to attack McMahon on last week’s Smackdown Live. Before the attack, McMahon announced that he would be taking a leave of absence and Bryan would be returning next week (this coming Tuesday).

If Bryan is cleared, it will likely be kept a secret until he is officially announced. Stay tuned.
