As we first reported on Monday night, there is unhappiness among the talent in WWE after it was announced that Raw will air live on Christmas night. This would be the first time that they’ve done a live episode of Raw on Christmas night. In previous years, the holiday shows would have been taped over the weekend to allow the wrestlers to spend time with their families.
It’s looking like Raw on 12/25 and Smackdown on 12/26 will take place in Chicago and Raw on New Year’s Day will take place in Miami, which is not too bad for most of the talent that lives a few hours away in the Orlando/Tampa area because they could still spend New Year’s Eve at home and then drive down the next day for Raw.
Apparently, the call to do a live show on Christmas day came from the USA Network and the decision may have been influenced by the fact that live shows/sports generally do well on Christmas day and there is an NFL game scheduled for Christmas night. While most people in WWE will not say anything publicly, there is unhappiness and some families have spoken out. Click here to read what Reby and Beth Hardy said.
