Apparently, in response to fans asking about his status for tonight’s pay-per-view, Mustafa Ali made it clear on Twitter that he doesn’t want to be in the Men’s Royal Rumble and he is standing firm on his request to be released from WWE.
Ali tweeted, “no, i would not like to be in rumble. i would like my release.”
As previously reported, WWE has no plans to release Ali but there are also no signs that they plan on using him on TV anytime soon.
News broke earlier this month that Ali had a heated argument with Vince McMahon after a pitch was made for “something Mustafa Ali would have never done.”
It’s unclear what the pitch was but prior to his removal from WWE TV, Ali’s “New America” storyline was scrapped and he hasn’t been mentioned on television since November. Ali has publicly stated that his “New America” storyline was scrapped apparently because it was deemed too controversial.
