Pete Dunn spoke with the Mirror about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about getting praised by wrestling legends for his performance in the WWE UK Championship tournament that took place last month on the WWE Network. He noted that at the time he was in work mode and his mind was on a lot of other things. He noted that to look back on it, it was surreal by the stuff that Triple H was saying about his performance. He noted that he was getting a lot of praise from Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. He noted that it was unreal to be around Fit Finlay and William Regal and being able to pick their brain. “Afterwards we all sat around, and we were like ‘how has this happened?’ Myself and Tyler Bate were sat there together in a hotel after the show, and we were scared to look at our phones, we were like ‘how has this gone so fast?’ Three months before that when we were heading up on the train to Glasgow for try-outs, honestly not even expecting that much.” He noted that everything has changed for him since the tournament.
When asked about Bate, he said that he thinks he’s incredible and that he could be anything that he wanted to be including the best wrestler in the world. He noted that he had a hand in training Bate and is very proud of him. He said that he wrestled Bate in Bate’s first match and that their first match was similar to their match in the finals of the tournament, which is why he thinks it came across so well. “We worked with complete confidence in what we were doing because we’ve done it so many times.”
Dunn also discussed coming to the states during WrestleMania weekend. You can read the full interview here.
