Sheamus is settling into life after WWE, and he is doing it under his own name. Days after confirming his departure from the company, the four-time world champion posted three training photos on X, including a double biceps pose, with a caption that doubled as an introduction.
“It’s just S. Farrelly… nothing more, nothing less,” he wrote.

The name is the point. Sheamus, real name Stephen Farrelly, changed his social media handles to @SFarrellyPro and stripped the WWE references from his accounts before signing off on July 10 with a farewell message that ended with “slán mo WWE chairde,” Irish for “goodbye, my WWE friends.” WWE moved him to the alumni section of its website around the same time.
Fightful Select reported that Farrelly is leaving WWE after turning down a restructured contract extension, with one WWE source saying he was offered less money to stay and considered it an insult given what he had put into the company. He was not released, and because his deal expired rather than being terminated, he is not expected to face the standard 90-day non-compete.
The training posts are not new for him. He had been sharing workout updates and pointing toward an in-ring return in the weeks before his exit became public, including after a Performance Center visit in early June. He has been out of action since undergoing shoulder surgery in December. His final WWE match came on the November 17, 2025 episode of Raw, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to beat Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
Farrelly spent nearly two decades in WWE and won the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, the United States Championship and both sets of tag team titles, along with the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and King of the Ring. The Intercontinental Championship was the one that got away, leaving him short of the Grand Slam despite chasing it through much of his final years there.
Where he goes next is still open. He has not signed anywhere, and he has not said what the plan is beyond the name he intends to use.
