Road Dogg shoots down reports of backstage confrontation between John Cena and Baron Corbin

On Wednesday, there was a story going around regarding Lana and Rusev and the claim was that they asked for their release from WWE. Rusev, Lana, and Smackdown’s head of Creative Brian “Road Dogg” James shot the story down on social media. Less than 24 hours later, another story made the rounds with the claim that Baron Corbin had a backstage altercation with John Cena and that is what led to Corbin losing his main event push.

Road Dogg has also shot that story down. I should also note that a WWE source has also denied that there was an altercation or confrontation so that lines up with what Road Dogg is saying on Twitter.

Here are Road Dogg’s tweets – the tweets start with the debunked Rusev/Lana rumors and then the subject changes to the debunked Cena/Corbin story:

The Wrestling Observer newsletter did report that Corbin has a lot of heat with talent backstage but there was nothing reported in the Observer about a confrontation with Cena. Corbin has been labeled as being anti-social but that’s not new because he was not known to socialize with too many people during his days in NXT. Even during his days in NXT, he rubbed people the wrong way.
