Roman Reigns says Conrad Thompson is using his name to draw views to his own shows.
The World Heavyweight Champion addressed Thompson’s criticism of him on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, released Wednesday.
“I mean, the truth is, are there a lot of people watching that guy’s show? So you’re gonna say stuff. You already know I’m a metric mover, that type of stuff. They know I get views and all that stuff. So it’s fine. I mean, it is what it is,” Reigns said.
Reigns also pointed to the people around Thompson, without naming anyone.
“If you look at the guy’s background, you already know where his support system. You know what I mean. Just I got to do a scroll a little bit, and you see who he’s a fan of and stuff like that, and who he’s connected to. But no, if they want to use my name to get views, that’s the industry right now.”
Thompson first called Reigns “probably the most overrated main eventer in WWE history” in early August on 83 Weeks, which he co-hosts with Eric Bischoff. He returned to the subject on the September 25 episode of Something to Wrestle, calling Reigns the “Triple H of 2026,” and again on the October 7 episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, where he explained why he has called Reigns an “industry plant.”
Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank on Saturday in New Orleans. Street Fighter, in which he plays Akuma, opens in theaters on Friday.
