Roman Reigns On LA Knight After Money In The Bank: ‘He Runs His Mouth, But He Came In There And He Backed It Up’

Roman Reigns says he has to give LA Knight his respect after beating him to retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank on Saturday in New Orleans.

Reigns spoke on the Money in the Bank post-show before leaving for Los Angeles and the premiere of Street Fighter, in which he plays Akuma.

“It’s a big weekend. You know what I mean? I knocked this out straight to LA for the Street Fighter premiere. It’s a hell of a weekend. But this was priority right here. If I didn’t come to New Orleans, if I didn’t hold it down, if I didn’t whoop LA Knight, which I gotta give him his respect. He runs his mouth, but he came in there and he backed it up, but he just ran into a better competitor today. I don’t want to see him down the road, but man, this was the prerequisite to get to Monday, and I’m just happy I was able to do it.”

Knight powerbombed Reigns through the announce table during the match. Reigns later crotched Knight on the top rope and won with two Superman Punches and a spear. After the match, 946 and The Bloodline brawled. Full results are in our Money in the Bank live coverage.

Before the show, Knight called it a “put up or shut up, do or die” title shot and said that, measured by where each of them started, Reigns “ain’t in my league.”

Street Fighter opens in theaters on October 16. Reigns’ next advertised WWE date is Raw in San Diego on October 19.
