Ronda Rousey has signed a full-time contract with WWE: “This is my life now”

As many of you saw, Ronda Rousey made an appearance after Asuka won the women’s Royal Rumble match. ESPN reported that she has signed a full-time deal with WWE.

“This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt,” Rousey told ESPN. “When I first met with Triple H, I told him, ‘There are other things I can do with my time that’ll make way more money, but I won’t enjoy nearly as much.”

Rousey said that this is always what she wanted to do but never thought it was in the cards for her. There had been talk of Rousey working with WWE after she appeared at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 in a segment with The Rock, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Rousey was also ringside at the Mae Young Classic to cheer on fellow MMA Horsewoman Shayna Baszler.

It’s not clear if Rousey will be wrestling at live events. Perhaps, she will be used in the Brock Lesnar role where she appears at some pay-per-views and some live events.

As of this writing, we still don’t know who will be in the women’s WrestleMania main event but it looks like Rousey will be part of it in some way. This story will get a ton of publicity on social media and on television and that is exactly what WWE was looking for when they signed her.
