As awesome as it would be to see happen, it doesn’t look like John Cena will be hosting Blue’s Clues.
Images of Cena in the signature Blue’s Clues costume went viral and sparked a nation’s curiosity of what it would be like if Blue had an owner she couldn’t see.
Adweek reports they were actually not taken from an audition at all but at Nickelodeon’s Up Front event for staff, advertisers, and buyers. The audience members were also made well aware that this wasn’t actually an audition but it was just a bit for them to enjoy.
Plenty of people commented on this matter including Steve Burns, the OG host of the show who offered to wrestle Big Match John for the role. But it turns out that there is nothing to it, although now that they have accidentally gauged everyone’s interest it could be possible to see something made of the idea. After all, Cena is hosting the Nick Kids’ Choice Awards for the second year in a row on March 24th so it wouldn’t surprise me to see them play off this hype a little.
However sad it might be to hear, the reboot of Blue’s Clues and John Cena have nothing to do with each other. Still, it didn’t stop everyone from having a little fun with it as even Nickelodeon’s Twitter account commented on the matter.
Maybe we can find a green striped polo big enough for both of you 💚 https://t.co/bgwXPXa0lM
