It might be Rusev Day every day but for the past two weeks, Rusev has been left off of SmackDown Live. This is quite a confusing turn of events seeing how hot his gimmick is right now. But WWE has needed the airtime for other stories.
It is a shame the Bulgarian Brute wasn’t featured on WWE television since his Rusev Day gimmick is one of the most popular aspects of the show. But possibly all of the Rusev Day chants caused creative to hold off on focusing on him too much because the over-enthusiastic fans who wanted to celebrate their favorite holiday every day were kind of derailing some angles at times.
A few weeks ago, Shane McMahon remarked “duly noted” at the crowd when they blistered him with Rusev Day chants and now he’s not even on the show.
The Bulgarian Brute commented about being left off the Blue Brand’s show and also threw a little dig in at Shane McMahon in the process for that “duly noted” comment.
We have to give the point to Rusev on this one, let’s just hope he returns to WWE television soon enough because this year WrestleMania is being held on April 8th which is still Rusev Day the last time I checked.
