Sean Waltman came away from SummerSlam impressed by the condition both Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar were in, and said Lesnar in particular looked the part.
Waltman watched the show from ringside on Saturday night in Minneapolis, seated with Jimmy Hart and among a group of Hall of Famers that also included Mark Henry. Speaking afterward on WWE Now, he was asked about Lesnar.
“Man, was he in shape. Both of them. No offense to Oba, because he’s a monster. I think Brock looked better than Oba.”
Lesnar turned 49 in July. Saturday was his tenth SummerSlam main event, a company record, and it came in the state he is billed from.
Femi won the match, closing out night one with a Fall From Grace after kicking out of a tombstone onto the exposed wood beneath the ring. It was the third meeting between the two this year and settled a series that started when Femi beat Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 and continued through Lesnar’s win at Clash in Italy.
Lesnar came back to the ring afterward, raised Femi’s hand and told the crowd that Femi is the future and he is the past. He did not say he was finished.
Waltman was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, as a member of D-Generation X and again with the nWo.
