Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins tonight in the main event of the second night of WWE SummerSlam, live from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Night two begins at 6 p.m. ET, which is 5 p.m. CT locally and 3 p.m. PT. The show streams in the United States on the ESPN App for subscribers to an ESPN Unlimited plan, and internationally on Netflix. ESPN is airing a Countdown pre-show at 3 p.m. ET. Six matches are announced.
Saturday set a high bar. Liv Morgan retained the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY in the opener, Nick Aldis lost to Gunther in his first WWE match but was reinstated as SmackDown General Manager afterward, Randy Orton returned to cost Cody Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship in a match CM Punk won in just under half an hour, and Oba Femi beat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell in a finish Lesnar himself framed as handing something over.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins
The two came up together, held the company down together in the Shield, and have spent the decade since Rollins broke that group up building parallel careers at the top. They have not met one on one since the 2022 Royal Rumble, where Reigns kept the Universal Championship by disqualification after refusing to release a guillotine. WWE puts their singles record at five wins for Rollins, four for Reigns and one draw.
Rollins challenged for the match on the Raw after Night of Champions and Reigns accepted. Rollins has framed it as coming back for a title he never lost, having been made to give up the World Heavyweight Championship last year through injury.
Interim WWE Women’s Championship ladder match
Rhea Ripley is still the champion but has not defended since tearing her meniscus in June. Rather than strip her, WWE opted to crown an interim champion who will face Ripley in a unification match once she is cleared.
Tiffany Stratton, who also holds the Women’s United States Championship, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green and Lash Legend all qualified through matches on SmackDown. Stratton is billed from Minnesota.
Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn
Zayn beat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions and lost it to Punk nine days later, in a match he had expected to have against Rhodes before Gunther took Rhodes out. He was not given a rematch at SummerSlam and was put in this instead. The winner is next in line for Punk.
Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin
Corbin returned by coming through the crowd on SmackDown to attack Williams and Carmelo Hayes, and has gone after Williams repeatedly since. Williams issued the challenge for tonight.
Penta vs. Chad Gable
Gable is from Minneapolis and has never won a major singles title in WWE. He earned the shot by winning a seven-man gauntlet on Raw.
There is history in it. Penta beat Gable in his WWE debut match in January 2025, and the loss is what set off the El Grande Americano run that has occupied Gable since.
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio
Judgment Day says Danhausen owes them $100,000, having taken the money from Mysterio and JD McDonagh to re-curse the New York Knicks during the NBA Finals and not delivered. Mysterio can collect if he wins what WWE is billing as the first Human Monies on a Pole match.
