There are several NXT stars and other familiar names backstage at tonight’s Smackdown Live in Orlando.
Some of the names spotted backstage include Shayna Baszler, Peyton Royce, WWE Hall Of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart, and Tyson Kidd. Of course, I would not read too much into that because they are in Orlando and a ton of wrestlers live in the area. The Royal Rumble will feature 30 women and the word is that some of the slots will go to NXT talent but I don’t know if they will appear on TV before the PPV or if they will just appear in the Rumble as surprise entrants.
Tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live will feature AJ Styles taking on Sami Zayn. Presumably, this will set up a Royal Rumble match between Styles and Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship. Also, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable will challenge The Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship and Mojo Rawley vs. Zack Ryder as part of the United States Championship tournament.
