As of now, WWE has only announced two acts for this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony – Dave Bautista and the NWO.
WrestleVotes is reporting that Jushin “Thunder” Liger and The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie Bella, are also set to be inducted this year during WrestleMania weekend in Tampa. Wrestlevotes was the first to break the news on several Hall Of Fame inductees last year.
Liger is one of the biggest names in Japanese wrestling history and one of the most well-known Japanese names to wrestling fans in the United States. He hasn’t done much with WWE during his career, aside from one match on a NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015 in a match against Tyler Breeze so there’s reason to believe that the induction could be tied to WWE’s desire to expand NXT into Japan. Either way, Liger’s career is legendary and deserves to be acknowledged. His final matches took place last month at the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom.
Nikki and Brie Bella retired last year after Nikki found out that she would not be cleared to wrestle due to neck issues and Brie is focused on motherhood. There were plans for them to return last year to start a program with The IIconics over the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Those plans were derailed due to Nikki’s neck issues.
The WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
