Rey Mysterio has been on the sidelines with another knee injury that resulted in him undergoing surgery as he had the operation in November.
The injury
At Crown Jewel that same month, Mysterio lost the WWE United States Titles to Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia. The WWE Hall of Famer was written off television on an episode of SmackDown.
It happened when Santos Escobar turned heel and attacked him because Escobar felt Mysterio was siding with Carlito. The belief is Mysterio will pick up from where that storyline left off when he returns to television.
Timeframe
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Mysterio targeted two to four weeks from now for returning before recapping Mysterio’s appearance on Konnan’s podcast this week.
Mysterio plans to get a personal trainer at the start of 2024 to help him work on his lower body strength, including hips, legs, and quads.
