TNA Star Expected To Leave For WWE Or AEW When Contract Is Up

Leon Slater is expected to leave TNA for either WWE or AEW once his contract expires, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the belief inside the wrestling industry is that the X-Division standout will be on the move.

Per Meltzer’s report: “Cedric Alexander beat Leon Slater to win the X Division title in a 2/3 fall match on the 5/14 live show from Sacramento. So Slater ended up tied with Austin Aries (2011-2012) for the longest X title run at 298 days. A lot of people were mad about them not letting him break the record, but the belief is Slater is gone to WWE or AEW when his contract is up.”

Slater also had runs in Revolution Pro Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, Progress Wrestling, and TNA. He won the Undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship at RevPro Uprising 2023, with the British indie circuit having been the foundation of his early-career development.

TNA has not officially commented on Slater’s contract status or his future plans. Slater himself has not addressed his contract situation publicly as of writing.
