For those of you that missed it, Jinder Mahal vs. John Cena headlined this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. Cena had the match won but Baron Corbin interfered and the match was called off. Corbin proceeded to attack Cena and then decided to turn his attention towards Mahal. Corbin cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase but failed to capture the WWE Championship because he was distracted when Cena got back up on the ring apron.
So, Corbin no longer has the briefcase. The show ended with Mahal celebrating by the stage area with the Singh Brothers as Cena laughed at Corbin.
Corbin will face Cena at SummerSlam on Sunday and Mahal will defend the championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. There was speculation that Corbin would try to cash in on Sunday but I guess this eliminates that possibility.
