Earlier this month Aleister Black was attacked and found unconscious in a parking lot following an episode of NXT.
It was not shown who attacked Black, but there were a plethora of suspects in the area. The Undisputed Era, Johnny Gargano, and Heavy Machinery were all seen in the area of the attack.
The attack was done to write off Black from WWE TV. Initially he was expected to participate in last night’s NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 4 main event for the NXT Title. Unfortunately he suffered an injury and was forced off the card. The injury was reportedly to his groin but was more serious than initially expected.
Last night at TakeOver, EC3 suffered a loss to Velveteen Dream in singles action. He was interviewed by Mike Rome afterwards backstage. During the interview, EC3 offered his thoughts on the attack on Black. He hinted that Lars Sullivan was also in the area of the attack and had more motive than anyone to attack the ex-NXT Champion:
