Paige is still riding high after an emotional homecoming with WWE.
On the June 26 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in London, Paige made her in-ring return to the United Kingdom for the first time in nine years, defeating Jacy Jayne in a hard-fought match. Last week’s Raw, she and Brie Bella retained the Tag Team Titles. It marked her first set of matches in her home country in over nine years, and the moment clearly meant the world to her.
Reflecting on the experience afterward, Paige raved about the reception from the British crowd. “It was so fun performing in front of my home country. They’re always so loud, they’re interactive, there’s no point where they’re trying to take over the show, they’re just having a good time,” she said.
The outpouring of support left a lasting impression on the Norwich native. “They’re so supportive, there was a lot of Paige posters out there, and t-shirts, I was like, ‘oh my God you love me,’ it’s beautiful,” she said. “I actually teared up during my entrance, I was like, ‘ah s—- you’re getting me.'”
Making the night even more special was the presence of her family. “My mum and dad’s here too, I had family in the crowd, it was magical,” Paige said.
