The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw its ratings drop.
Friday’s show averaged 1.861 million viewers on FOX, which is down from last week’s show that did 1.971 million viewers, according to Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics. In the all-important 18-49 demographic, the show did a 0.46 rating, down from the 0.54 rating last week.
Just two weeks ago SmackDown did over 2 million viewers. Based on the overnight ratings, the expectation was that this show would be the new lowest-rated episode of SmackDown on FOX, but that’s not the case. The record came back on July 3, 2020 with 1.777 million viewers. This was the second-lowest viewership the show has done though.
This doesn’t include the ratings the SmackDown shows have done on FS1. The show went up against the third game of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on NBC.
The show featured Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens in a Last Man Standing match to determine the next competitor in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, a promo segment with Edge, Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega, Big E & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin, Otis vs. Angelo Dawkins, and more.
