This is a rather interesting turn of events. In a day and age where it seems WWE wants to differentiate between the two brands of Raw and SmackDown, they added a fifth split-brand pay-per-view event to 2018 when they made Money In The Bank an event for both red and blue teams.
Now it looks like they’re adding another split-brand pay-per-view as fans who have already bought tickets for the Backlash event have been notified that they are now attending a pay-per-view consisting of Raw and SmackDown Live Superstars.
Only time will tell if this will become a growing trend where pay-per-views are once again shared by both teams.
Backlash is being held on May 6th this year in Newark, New Jersey.
