Say what you want about The Miz but the guy works his butt off in and out of the company. The Miz is considered to be of their most reliable Superstars because he carries himself well during media interviews and appearances and he’s very durable in the ring. That’s why he’s often called upon to for interviews and outside projects. It also helps that he doesn’t get himself into any trouble in his private life.
Contrary to what some people might believe, Roman Reigns losing the Intercontinental Championship was not a punishment for Reigns. It made sense for him to drop the title this week because Reigns will be in the WrestleMania main event. On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the steroid story from last week had no impact on Reigns push.
There are also big plans in store for The Miz. His Intercontinental title win on the Raw 25th anniversary show is said to be the beginning of a big push for him. Meltzer noted that there is a “major WrestleMania match” planned for him so you can expect them to keep him strong throughout Mania season.
It will be interesting to see who WWE has lined up as Miz’ opponent at WrestleMania. If Miz is going into Mania as the Intercontinental Champion then that would seemingly eliminate someone from outside of WWE like a celebrity or a former Superstar. My only guess (please bear in mind that this is only speculation) is that his opponent would be Finn Balor since it doesn’t look like Balor has a singles storyline in place right now. Perhaps, we will know more by Sunday because Miz has been added to the men’s Royal Rumble match.
