WWE Main Roster Call-Up May Be Delayed

Ricky Saints may not be heading to the WWE main roster anytime soon, despite the company having discussed the move.

According to Bodyslam, WWE has had internal discussions about moving Saints to the main roster, but the CW Network has raised concerns about NXT’s roster depth in the wake of several recent call-ups. With Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Ethan Page, and Joe Hendry all having moved on, the network is keen to keep an established name on the brand to anchor it during the transition.

Saints’ current NXT standing remains significant. He debuted in February 2025 after a five-year stint with AEW, won the North American Championship in April of that year, and captured the NXT Championship from Oba Femi less than five months later. His profile makes him one of the more valuable names remaining on the developmental brand.

On the latest edition of NXT, Saints attacked Shiloh Hill backstage, setting up a match between the two for next week and raising further questions about WWE’s immediate plans for him.

The wave of NXT talent moving to the main roster began in January, with several names making their WrestleMania 42 debuts over the weekend. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Sol Ruca and Ethan Page made their brand debuts and stepped in the ring for their first matches, while Joe Hendry was officially announced as a member of the Raw roster with a concert scheduled for next week. Additional reports indicate that more NXT names are expected to join the main roster in the coming weeks.

The upcoming edition of SmackDown is also expected to feature NXT call-ups and more roster shakeups, with Jacy Jayne and Rey Mysterio among the names discussed for potential brand moves.
