Enzo Amore is injured, according to WWE. In addition to receiving stitches after his match with Cedric Alexander on Monday Night Raw, he apparently has an ankle injury. For those of you that missed it, his face was a crimson mask during his cruiserweight title defense. He retained the title after being counted out because after his he collapsed on his ankle after Alexander did a dive on him to the ringside area.
In a post-show video, Amore said that he needs to get an X-ray for his ankle. I’m not sure if this is a storyline or a legitimate injury but we’ll pass along an update once we hear more. The one thing that points to this being a legitimate injury is that WWE did not post a storyline injury update on their website like they did for Brock Lesnar and Kane. Typically, they are quick to post updates for storyline injuries and it can take some time before they will post something for a real injury so it looks like he could be really hurt. Hopefully, it’s nothing that will force him out of action.
The video below shows that Amore received four stitches and clearly he is not happy about his ankle.
Here is the spot where the injury occurred. The YouTube version shows an alternate angle because WWE was trying to do whatever possible to hide any shots of blood.
