WWE has announced that SummerSlam 2018 will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for the 4th year in a row. The event is scheduled for 8/19/18.
“Our partners in New York have worked tirelessly to help create the incremental growth of SummerSlam week through the presentation of not only our ticketed and fan events at the Barclays Center, but also through the community-based events taking place in the city’s five boroughs,” John Saboor, WWE’s executive vice president of special events, told the NY Post. “We are very proud of that and the work that we have done.”
Just like this year, the Barclays Center will also host NXT Takeover, Monday Night Raw, and Smackdown Live. WWE will also continue their community outreach with their Be A STAR program.
WWE is touting SummerSlam as their second-biggest show of the year behind WrestleMania. The idea is to make it bigger every year and continue to make it a destination week for fans that fly in from other states.
