Oba Femi and Bron Breakker did not get a clean finish, and The Vision made sure of it.
Femi won by disqualification in the main event of Sunday Night’s Main Event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta when Bronson Reed came down and hit him in the back with a chair. Reed had been off television. The Vision beat Femi down afterwards and left him lying.
Paul Heyman handled the introductions in the ring beforehand, giving both men the full treatment and framing the winner as the future of WWE, which is the argument the match was built on.
Femi took the fight straight to Breakker. Breakker turned it around with a flying clothesline off the apron that sent Femi over the announce table. Femi fought back with a series of strikes and a clothesline of his own, and got a run of near falls including a chokeslam for two.
Breakker went for a spear at ringside and Femi knocked him down. Femi sent Austin Theory through the announce table, and Breakker speared Femi outside the ring and again inside it for two. Logan Paul came out and got onto the apron and was ejected from ringside. Maxxine Dupri passed Breakker a set of brass knuckles and he missed with the shot. Femi picked him up for a throwaway slam, and Reed ran down and hit him in the back several times with the chair.
Winner: Oba Femi by disqualification
The result protects both men, which is the point of it. Femi does not lose, Breakker is not pinned, and the story runs on.
That story started at SummerSlam, where Femi beat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell and Lesnar called him the future of WWE on his way out. Breakker had been carrying that label himself and took it badly. Heyman is the connective tissue: he managed Lesnar through that programme, he manages Breakker in The Vision, and he was the one who told Breakker on the August 17 Raw that the match was happening, in the middle of a confrontation between the three of them.
Femi went into Sunday as the 2026 King of the Ring, a year on from a run in NXT that ended with him as the brand’s defining champion before the call-up. Breakker went in as one half of the World Tag Team Champions with Theory, and as the man WWE had spent two years building as its next singles star before Femi arrived on the main roster and took the spotlight off him.
