Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton took place at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.
They started out by brawling in the crowd. Orton took over and started the beatdown, including several back suplexes on the announce table. Orton talked trash to Brandi Rhodes at ringside and she tossed a drink into the face of Orton. Rhodes with a powerslam to Orton that popped the crowd. Cody with a spring board kick then a series of punches. Orton blocked the cross rhodes and Orton hit him with several clotheslines. Cody hit him with a cross rhodes for 2. There was a referee bump and Orton hit an RKO to Cody. Orton missed a punt and Cody hit the cross rhodes. Cody hit Randy in the face with steel steps and Randy was bleeding as a result. Back in the ring, Cody hit cross rhodes then another one then another one. Randy was begging for mercy as Cody was about to punt kick him. A new referee came out to check on Orton. Orton hit a low blow to both Cody and the referee at the same time. Orton hit an RKO to Cody as the original referee came into the ring and counted the pinfall.
Winner: Orton
