James Storm on why he decided not to stay in NXT

James Storm showed up out of the blue in NXT, but he seemed to be gone quicker than a hiccup. Many fans questioned why Storm didnโ€™t stick around and he recently spoke to Sporting News about his decision not to stay in NXT. In the end, he said that the timing just wasnโ€™t right for him.

โ€œWith the schedule of NXT and he was telling me weโ€™re going to try and run 100-120 shows from here on out throughout the year and stuff,โ€ Storm said. โ€œItโ€™s all great and everything but where I was, personally, in my life, I couldnโ€™t be on the road that much because I had some family problems, my wife wanted to have another kid. So, it was one of those things where it wasnโ€™t the right timing for me. Hunter straight up told me, โ€˜Go get your life together. This is my number. Maybe in two years, we can do business again.โ€™โ€

Storm went on to explain that he didnโ€™t want to work the shows NXT would require. He said the 100-120 shows a year would have been too much for him at this stage in his life. Storm is a family man and reasoned why it was just more conducive for him to stay where he was.

If James Storm would have stayed in NXT he could still be experiencing a great run or even be on the main roster by now. But if the 120 dates a year for NXT was too much for him, we canโ€™t imagine how happy he would have been working a full-time road schedule with Raw or SmackDown Live.

Storm is still a great worker with an incredible character. But it looks like if we want to watch him do his thing, weโ€™ll know where to find him.
