WWE Monday Night Raw results 8/7/17: Brock destroys Miztourage, Braun is last man standing

WWE Monday Night Raw results

Air Canada Centre – Toronto, ON

We are live with Monday Night Raw coverage. This week’s show is taking place at The Air Canada Centre in Toronto and will be headlined by Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match. Also, WWE will address the situation with the Raw Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam and Brock Lesnar will be on Miz TV.

Miz TV

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are the guests this week. Miz introduced Lesnar. Miz said that he will put his money on Lesnar losing the title because Lesnar will take his ball and go home. Heyman asked Miz if he and his wife Maryse ever roleplay. Heyman suggested that Miz could be Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas can be Samoa Joe, and Curtis Axel can be Braun Strowman. Heyman said that Lesnar wants to give everyone a SummerSlam preview. Lesnar clotheslined the Miztourage and then hit suplexes. Then he followed up with f F5’s on Dallas, Axel, and Miz. Lesnar came off like a total babyface here and Michael Cole proclaimed that Lesnar just took out the trash.

They cut to the backstage area. Seth Rollins was shown backstage. He is coming out next.

Seth Rollins vs. Sheamus

Sheamus got the roll up on Rollins thanks to the distraction from Cesaro, who was at ringside. Corey Graves made a point to say that Rollins could have used a friend to watch his back. Sheamus and Cesaro continued the attack at ringside. They looked up towards the entrance way to see if Dean Ambrose would run out but he didn’t. Fans chanted “we want Ambrose” as the attack continued in the ring.

Backstage, Rollins was upset and asked Ambrose what he needs to do to prove that he is not the same guy that he was 3 years ago. Ambrose said that he doesn’t want to get burned again and he will go out alone when he takes on Cesaro later tonight.

Backstage, Kurt Angle was forced to find a new opponent for Jason Jordan because Curtis Axel was not clear because of the beating he took from Brock Lesnar. Lesnar ran into some guy and told him to go out and face Jordan.

Jason Jordan vs. Jean-Pierre Goulet

Jordan won the squash match. Fans chanted “lets go jobber” during the match.

Backstage, Bayley was shown walking with her arm in a sling. She’s up next.

Bayley addresses her injury

Charly Caruso interviewed Bayley in the ring. They showed footage from last week to show fans how she was injured. Bayley refused to watch the footage. She said that she went through different stages of emotion this week and thanked the WWE Universe for helping her. The fans booed her. Corey Graves referenced “bizzzaro world here in Toronto.” Bayley predicted that Sasha Banks would be the one to qualify and go on to become the new number 1 contender for Alexa Bliss’ Raw Women’s Championship. Banks came out to the ring and hugged Bayley. The first Triple Threat Qualifying match is next.

Triple Threat Match – Qualifiying Match for Number 1 Contendership for the Raw Women’s Championship
Alicia Fox vs. Sasha Banks vs. Emma

Alexa Bliss sat in with the announcers during this match. Banks had the match won when she locked in the Banks statement on Fox but Emma broke it up. Banks then locked in the Banks statement on Emma and forced her to submit so Banks will move on to next week where she will face the winner of the second Triple Threat match taking place later tonight.

Renee Young interviewed Braun Strowman backstage. He said “I like hurting Roman Reigns.” He cut another overly scripted promo but he is good with his delivery so he is better than most at pulling off those awkward promos. Strowman said that he will be the only monster standing later tonight.

Enzo Amore came out and introduced The Big Show. Big Show talked about the KO to Big Cass last week. Their in-ring conversation was interrupted by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and a match was made. Booker T said that Enzo once again has talked his way into something that he can’t talk his way out of.

The Big Show and Enzo Amore vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

After several minutes of wrestling, Big Cass came out. The distraction allowed Gallows to hit a big boot on Big Show and knock him off the ring apron. That allowed Gallows and Anderson to double team Amore and get the win. Cass attacked Show after the match. Amore dove onto Cass but he got beat up again at ringside. Cass tossed Amore into the barricade. Cass continued to stalk Amore but was caught in the face by another KO from Big Show. Show and Amore walked off.

Finn Balor-Bray Wyatt segment

Finn Balor cut a promo in the ring and said that he will finish whatever Bray Wyatt wants to start and he would do it at SummerSlam or anywhere else. The lights went out and Wyatt appeared in the ring but Balor was ready for him. Balor hit a combination of moves but then the lights went out and Wyatt appeared on the big screen.

Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro

Ambrose was able to get a rollup and a pin, despite the distraction from Sheamus. However, he was attacked by both men but Seth Rollins ran down to save him. Rollins took out Cesaro at ringside and then Sheamus in the ring and clotheslined him over the top rope.  Ambrose got up on his feet and had a conflicted look on his face but then offered to fist bump Rollins. Rollins shook his head and walked away without fist bumping Ambrose.

They recapped what happened earlier on Miz TV. Then switched over to cruiswerseight highlights from last week’s 205 Live. Afterwards, they cut to Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews with Akira Tozawa. Neville walked in and had some words for his SummerSlam opponent.

Akira Tozawa vs. Ariya Daivari

Titus O’Neil was on commentary for this match. Tozawa got the win.

Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Roman Reigns. He doesn’t care what Brock Lesnar does and he doesn’t care if he goes or stays in WWE but he won’t hesitate to retire Lesnar at SummerSlam. He said that he will be the last man standing tonight and he will walk out of SummerSlam as the new Universal Champion.

Triple Threat Match – Qualifiying Match for Number 1 Contendership for the Raw Women’s Championship
Nia Jax vs. Mickie James vs. Dana Brooke

Alexa Bliss joined the announces once again for this match and Sasha Banks looked on from backstage. Jax got the win after hitting the legdrop on Brooke. Jax will face Banks next week and the winner will face Bliss at SummerSlam.

They aired another Goldust promo. He says that he is about to burst and he can’t wait to share his next big materpiece and he will be watching very closely at SummerSlam. He teased that he might find his next hero, his next villain or a new starlet. Under his direction, this person will shine like gold.

Backstage, Big Cass demanded a match with Big Show at SummerSlam. He suggested putting Enzo Amore in a shark cage above the ring. Kurt Angle agreed.

Last Man Standing Match
Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns

This was a brutal match, as expected. After a few minutes of back-and-forth action, Reigns bashed Strowman with steel steps but Strowman was able to get back up on his feet. Later in the match, they set up a table in the ring and Reigns dropped Strowman through it. The referee counted but Reigns got up and Strowman rolled out of the ring and landed on his feet. Reigns ran around the ring to go after Reigns but Strowman picked up one of the office chairs near the timekeeper and tossed it at Roman’s face. Reigns was able to get out by the count of 9. They made their way through the crowd and to the announce table by the stage area. Strowman drove Reigns into the screen two times. Reigns was able to get back up and hit Strowman with two superman punches. He tried to hit a spear in the aisleway but Strowman nailed him with a boot to the face. Reigns got back up and hit a spear at ringside. Both men were down as the referee counted. Samoa Joe appeared in the first row and caught Reigns with the coquita clutch as fans changed “thank you Joe.” Reigns was put to sleep and Stowman got back on his feet. Strowman was declared as the winner because Reigns was not able to get back up.
