Asuka’s broken collarbone means that she will not be able to wrestle at the current or next set of TV tapings. As a result, the decision was made to strip her of the NXT Women’s Championship. WWE has posted a clip of the fans showing their appreciation for her shortly after she gave up the title.
At the tapings, William Regal announced that negotiations have begun for her to move up to either Raw or Smackdown Live. The word backstage at Takeover was that she would likely land on Monday Night Raw.
Aside from the injury, this was the best way for her to go out. Now, the question is who will be the next NXT Women’s Champion? I am just speculating but it certainly would make sense for the winner of the Mae Young Classic to be crowned as the new champion.
