WWE announces the rules for the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches

At the start of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle announced the rules for both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches. The rules are the same as before and they apply to the women’s Rumble match as well. You are eliminated once both feet hit the floor. There will be 30 entrants and the winner will get a championship match at WrestleMania. Despite what has been reported elsewhere, the talk has always been 20 or more women for that match and there was never a consideration given to a 15-woman Rumble. Angle did not mention anything about time intervals.

What is interesting is that there are 11 of slots to fill for the women’s Rumble. Some of those slots will be surprise entrants and others will be names from NXT.

Here is the list of active women on the WWE main roster (we excluded champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair and inactive Superstars such as Maryse, Maria Kanellis and The Bella Twins):

Asuka
Alicia Fox
Bayley
Dana Brooke
Mandy Rose
Mickie James
Nia Jax
Paige
Sasha Banks
Sonya Deville
Becky Lynch
Carmella
Lana
Liv Morgan
Naomi
Natalya
Ruby Riott
Sarah Logan
Tamina
