Samoa Joe provides an update on his injury

Samoa Joe is a prime example of a guy WWE got ahold of ten years too late. At this stage in his career, he’s done a lot of damage to his body and he could be suffering those ramifications of several injuries due to wear and tear.

If Vince McMahon sees Joe as “injury prone” then that could be a kill shot to his push. But with another injury, this time to his foot, Samoa Joe is doing what he can to get healthy and return to the ring sooner than later.

The Samoan Submission Machine recently spoke to Booker T’s Heated Conversations podcast where he went into his current injury and the steps being taken to get back to prime condition.

“Anytime you miss one of the “Big 4″ shows or, really, just shows, in general, it’s always sad to say. A younger version of me would definitely be stressing out and probably making this situation a lot worse. For me right now, I know what I need to do to get back and be healthy. I understand the timetable and what I need to do to exceed that timetable. I was more accepting of the process because I realize it’s unavoidable. Now it’s just about concentrating just getting back and being healthy.”

“As of right now, it’s kind of a week to week thing. With these injuries sometimes these things can heal earlier and sometimes later. They are going to do a little bit of an ultrasound every week. They’re going to be giving me treatments. It’s not something the requires surgery. It’s basically a lot of time, rest, elevation and letting it heal. It just depends on how quickly it’s going to heal. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later. Obviously, we’re going to be past the Rumble but I don’t know how much further past that.”

It’s a shame that Samoa Joe will be missing the Royal Rumble, but he could always get back in the ring in time for some kind of Road To WrestleMania. He’s receiving platelet-rich plasma injections which sounds excruciating but it will be worth it if Samoa Joe can get back to work as soon as possible.
