Former Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion wants to sign with WWE

Tajiri Ishimori announced on Monday that he would be leaving Pro Wrestling NOAH effective immediately. He was with the promotion since 2006 and noted that he decided that he needed to make a move after being inspired by people like Hideo Itami and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Ishimori, a 3-time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion has also been working for Impact Wrestling as part of Impact’s relationship with Pro Wrestling NOAH. He is also a former Impact X-Division Champion but he lost the title at to Matt Sydal at the TV tapings in January.

A Yahoo Sports article translation quoted him as saying, “While I personally do like to fight on the front line of things, I have experienced [a] overseas expedition and [am] more interested in the outside world now.” He also said that he needed to make this move now because he would regret it later.

The 35-year old could be WWE-bound. It’s not clear if he has an offer on the table but he said, “WWE is the goal and I want to keep trying to end up there.”
