It shouldn’t be a big surprise that the one man who determines Braun Strowman’s fate is the 72-year-old billionaire sitting in the Gorilla Position. But Braun’s situation is a rather interesting one this year.
Strowman was initially being held off on due to the fact that there was a documentary from Jon Bravo about to drop which could point a finger at Roman Reigns as a customer of an accused and convicted steroid dealer. But apparently, WWE isn’t worried about that much at this point even though Bravo announced his documentary was still on the way.
Therefore WWE used Strowman as a backup plan in case they needed to suspend Roman Reigns. But now since it looks like Roman and Brock Lesnar are going to collide in New Orleans because Vince McMahon personally guaranteed it, Braun is free to find his own WrestleMania Moment.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes the initial plan for Strowman at Mania would to simply have an in-ring confrontation with The Bar. This is why it was reported Sheamus and Cesaro might not have an actual match at Mania this year.
But since Braun single-handedly won the tag team battle royal to earn a spot at WrestleMania it looks like he’ll be facing The Bar in a match at the Show Of Shows. It was noted that Vince McMahon will determine whether the Strowman vs The Bar match will be a handicap match or if they’ll pick a partner for the Monster Among Men.
It was teased that Kurt Angle will address the situation next week on Raw so hopefully, we’ll know what’s going on soon enough.
